Other Ways to Help

Spring, 2009 - Girl Scouts donated their cookies to the CHF families.

Colorado Homeless Families provides a food bank for the families in their transitional housing program. Bi-weekly CHF receives donations from Safeway; we receive bread, pastries, dairy products and produce from them. All of our families are welcome to these items.

Some of our families do their community service time at the Food Bank of the Rockies, which earns us credits to be able to pick up non-perishable food items. There have been many individuals and companies that have organized food drives for us; this helps to replenish the non-perishable shelves.

If you would like to donate food or organize a food drive, our families are always in need of the following:

  • Canned meat
  • Canned fruit
  • Baby food
  • Baby formula
  • Pasta and pasta sauce
  • Soup
  • Canned vegetables
  • Baking items
  • Condiments
  • Diapers (all sizes) & wipes (Food Stamps will NOT pay for diapers)
  • Toiletry items (toothpaste, deodorant, soap, feminine hygiene, etc.)
  • Paper goods (napkins, toilet paper, paper towel, etc.)
  • Cleaning supplies (sponges, detergent, cleanser, etc.)
  • New dish towels & dish clothes

Please contact us at 303-420-6634, to schedule a drop-off time if you would like to donate to our food bank.
